Joyful Doula Care
What moms are saying!
Nicole P.

With my first, I attended childbirth completely unprepared — no hospital bag, no childbirth preparation classes or anything. I come from a family of health care providers and fully thought that I could lean on western medicine to help me deliver a healthy baby.
Fortunately, I did have a healthy delivery but it came with a cost — I was heavily medicated and didn’t have the birth I imagined. It’s what inspired me to think about birthing and postpartum.
Fast forward to my second child, I knew I wanted a doula. I knew I wanted to experience a more natural child birth. With the quarantine, COVID restrictions, and getting laid off my job— I wasn’t sure how that could happen. God answered my call when I knocked and I knew Valerie was the right fit because she eagerly wanted to help. After our conversation, she reached out to me and often wanted to stay connected.
Valerie and I got close really quick— I discussed health concerns I had and fears and she was very knowledgeable and present every step of the way. By the time my water dropped to delivery— she came in at the right time and just knew how to best support me and my husband. She even helped me place some healthy boundaries with my family — a major plus!
I highly recommend Valerie and can imagine she’d be amazing support to other mommies. You won’t regret it.

I read somewhere that Doulas are the "mother to the mother". Valerie epitomizes this description. She was invaluable to me and my family as my post partum doula. Valerie has a very calm yet joyful demeanor. She is extremely empathetic and intuitive, and really understood my feelings and challenges as a new mother. She helped me cope, both emotionally and physically, after my delivery and was always there for me and my family. Valerie took exceptionally good care of my son while I and my husband got some much needed sleep. I never had to worry about my son when Valerie was around. She generously shared her vast knowledge of post partum care and newborn care. She constantly thought about what’s best for me and the baby and was extremely responsive over emails and text. She went above and beyond her normal scheduled hours to make sure I and my son were well taken care of. I never felt alone while working with Valerie.
Valerie was there for me the very evening that I came back from the hospital, and she made this visit on a really short notice of a couple of hours. Looking back, as a first time mother, that first visit was incredibly important to me because Valerie provided a deep sense of support and security, that she will be there for me and my family in this exciting, but often daunting, journey of new parenthood. Valerie will always remain an important part of my family. She will forever be my son’s "Valerie Aaji” (Aaji means grandmother in Marathi- my native language). I highly recommend Valerie to any family looking for post partum doula, and can assure that they will receive much more than a doula.
